A total of 24,824 voters opted for 49-O in the elections in Tamil Nadu. This is a seemly small number of the total votes cast (3,67,53,114).
Chennai had the highest no. of voters who used the option of 49-O – 3,407, followed by Coimbatore district with 3,061 voters. Kanniyakumari District has the least no. of voters opting for 49-O = 170.
But the credit goes to GUDALUR for being the constituency with the highest no. of voters using 49-O option = 787, followed by SINGANALLUR with 646 voters.
6 constituencies had no voters exercising 49-O option (NEYVELI, RISHIVANDIYAM, RAJAPALAYAM, SRIVILLIPUTHUR, VIRUDHUNAGAR & ARUPPUKKOTTAI.
No correlation with voter turnout and 49-O stats.
