Trouble in AIADMK Camp?

AIADMK today released it’s list of candidates from 160 constituencies. Going by the response from Communist Parties it seems all is not well in the AIADMK alliance. Is AIADMK over confident of it’s victory? It seems so, given that it has unilaterally declared it’s candidate list without consulting its allies.

Comrades finalise tie-up with AIADMK

CPI & CPI(M) have finalised seat-sharing for the upcoming elections with AIADMK. CPI will contest from 10 seats while CPI(M) will contest from 12 seats.

This paves the way for a near-full picture of the AIADMK led alliance. Only MDMK is still to sign a pact in the alliance.

DMK gets New Nadar Community Organisation Support

DMK has struck an agreement with Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi, a joint forum of the Nadar Community. It has alloted 1 seat to Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi which it will contest in DMK symbol.

AIADMK has finalised seat sharing pact with Kongu Ilaingnar Perava alloting it 1 seat which it will most probably contest in Namakkal district.

Finally DMK – Congress Seat Sharing Confirmation

Finally, finally after all the drama at the state & the centre, the seat sharing has been finalised between DMK & Congress. 7 year partnership was put to test during the course of last fortnight by tough and unrelenting bargaining on both sides.

AIADMK – CPM Seat Sharing

CPM will be constesting from 13 seats as part of the AIADMK alliance. CPM had contested the same number of seats in 2006 as part of DMK alliance and won 9.

Split Wide Open

DMK-Congree alliance has split wide open. The Seat Sharing arrangement (60seats for Congress) has been “dropped”. DMK says it is Congress’ fault esp. the home minister PC is responsible for the situation.

DMK (no. of seats undecided)
Congress (No. of seats undecided)
PMK (31 seats)
VCK (10 seats)
MMK (1 seat)
IUML (3 seats)
KNMK (7 seats) – Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam

It is expected that DMK will contest from atleast 132 seats (as in 2006) leaving 50 seats for Congress.
